1. Brief Introduction to Multi-functional Foam Extinguishing Agent

1.1 Economic Value and Social Value of Multi-functional Foam Extinguishing Agent

Multi-functional foam extinguishing agent is a high-tech of international standard with independent intellectual property;

Multi-functional foam extinguishing agent applies the fresh theories of “integrated foam” and “intelligent foam”. It creates new fields for extinguishing methods and leads new trend of fire fighting;

Multi-functional foam extinguishing agent is a great revolution of fire fighting technologies and a major break-through of fire fighting filed, and sets a splendid milestone in the history of human fire fighting;

Multi-functional foam extinguishing agent puts an end to functional oneness of “one kind of extinguishing agent used to put out one kind of fire” of traditional extinguishing agent, complexity of various fires put out by various foams, machines and persons and backwardness in inconvenient storage, transport and use and limited functions of traditional extinguishing agent, while raising fire fighting strength.

1.2 Technical Qualities of Multi-functional Foam Extinguishing Agent

Multi-functional foam extinguishing agent integrates single functions of several kinds of foam extinguishing agents, including high expansion, medium expansion and low expansion, as well as protein, fluoroprotein, alcohol and aqueous film-form, so it can effectively put out polar (alcohols, ketones, esters, nitriles) flammable liquid fires, non-polar (light oil, heavy oil, benzenes) flammable liquid fires and oleyl alcohol blended fuel (ethanol gasoline) fires as well as class-A combustible substance fires.

  

Multi-functional foam extinguishing agent enjoys extremely strong applicability. Existing foam generators of high expansion, medium expansion and low expansion may be used to generate corresponding extinguishing foams. It applies to a wide range of fixed or mobile foam extinguishing tools, systems and devices, ensuring smooth transition, seamless linkage and continued contribution of formal facilities, and greatly reducing fund input.  

Multi-functional foam extinguishing agent solves three major difficulties, i.e. selection of surface active agent, synergistic effect of film former and burn resistant agent and relationship between foam expansion and foam fluidity; via anti-particle effect, it greatly raises extinguishing rate and extinguishing efficiency and reasonably reduces fire fighting costs.

Mixing ratio of multi-functional foam extinguishing agent to water is 6%: 94%, 3%: 97%, 1%: 99%. Its key feature is 95% fire knockdown, together with extreme rapidity. Even high expansion or medium expansion foam may put out fires caused by the above-mentioned combustion substances. Its functions above are unmatched by other foam extinguishing agents.

Technical parameters of national testing of multi-functional foam extinguishing agent are as follows: foam expansion of high expansion multi-functional foam extinguishing agent is 583, that of medium expansion multi-functional foam extinguishing agent is 29, and that of low expansion multi-functional foam extinguishing agent is 7.1; it takes multi-functional foam extinguishing agent  75s to put out acetone fire, 82s ethanol gasoline fire, 180s fire caused by oil for rubber industry and 120s gasoline fire and 48s; it takes high expansion foam 48s to put out gasoline fire. 

Multi-functional foam extinguishing agent enjoys superior flexibility and operability. Based on basic recipe, the product may be produced according to the users’ requirements and the fire types.

1.3 Extinguishing Principle and Raw Materials of Multi-functional Foam Extinguishing Agent

1.3.1 Extinguishing principle

During fire fighting with multi-functional foam extinguishing agent, the foam spreads rapidly over burning liquid surface, and produces a kind of special liquid which cools burning liquid surface; meanwhile special liquid forms a water film over burning liquid surface, and inhibits evaporation of burning liquid together with foam, breaking burning source and accomplishing extinguishing goal.

1.3.2 Raw materials

Hydrocarbon surface active agents: anion surface active agent, non-ionic surface active agent, amphoteric surface active agent;

Special surface active agent: silicone surface active agent, fluorocarbon surface active agent:

Salts: magnesium salt, natrium salt

Auxiliary agents: sugars, alcohols, ethers

       2. Liquid hydrocarbon evaporation inhibitor

Liquid hydrocarbon evaporation inhibitor was a technical patent achievement approved by the authority in January 25th, 2006. N-1(liquid hydrocarbon) is kind of a combination of semi-condensed film and liquid monomolecular film, covering the surface of methanol gasoline and ethanol gasoline. It can inhibit gasoline from evaporating whenever static or dynamic, and make no wear and tear and no pollution to the inhibited methanol or ethanol gasoline. Moreover, even if the film suffers man-made damages, it can be automatically repaired in a rapid way. So, the functions of Liquid hydrocarbon evaporation inhibitor include firstly it can eliminate methanol and ethanol gasoline’s toxicity; secondly it can inhibit them from wear and tear; thirdly it can raise their flash point for which even if there emerge fire or light, methanol gasoline and ethanol gasoline wouldn’t be continuously burning and as a result it can improve the safety of fuel storage and usage. Liquid hydrocarbon evaporation inhibitor is one of the green technology products in response to the world theme, environment protecting and energy saving. Meanwhile, N-1(liquid hydrocarbon) evaporation inhibitor is able to improve the dynamic performance of methanol gasoline and ethanol gasoline, avoid abrupt cut-out of the vehicle, and raises running stability of the vehicle.
